"Landscapes2" Survey - For those who are not aware of what "Landscapes" is, it is Chester County's award-winning policy plan that brings growth and preservation together. It guides municipalities, developers, preservationists, and many others in setting priorities for where and how our county will grow - and how to protect the best of our natural, rural, historic, suburban, and urban heritage. After ten years, the plan is being rewritten, and to provide guidance, the County is asking residents to complete a short on-line survey in which you can indicate your priorities on a number of aspects of living and/or working in Chester County. Charlestown Township encourages everyone to complete the survey. To learn more about Landscapes, and to complete the survey (it takes just a few minutes), go to http://www.landscapes2.org. Use the row of links under the Landscapes2 logo to go to "FAQs" for a concise understanding of Landscapes, and go to "Survey" to take the short survey. If you complete the survey as a Charlestown resident, leave the last question for a 3-digit code blank.
"Rethinking Chesco's sense of place" by Nancy Petersen in today's Philadelphia Inquirer reports on the Landscapes2 survey and also provides some background on the Landscapes program. The article is available on-line from the paper's web site by clicking here.
