BACKGROUND
Last year the Brightside Farm Committee and Charlestown Township created a twelve plot Community Garden at the site of the former Pyle family garden at Brightside Farm on Yellow Springs Road. Participants can grow vegetables, flowers or a mix. This survey is to solicit additional gardeners for 2004.
The Farm Committee along with volunteers will extend the garden area and fence the additional plots with 8' high fence for protection from the area deer population and other critters.
Water is provided by a hydrant and hose as well as a trough located within the fenced area.
Plots are approximately 19'x20'. Individuals or families may share a plot.
Access will be available during daylight hours, 7 days/week.
Families will provide their own seed and gardening tools and labor. Some composted manure from Brightside Farm will be available as will some mulch (consisting of 5+ year old hay).
A one-time $25 fee per plot will be charged to cover the cost of ground preparation and fencing.
If you have already signed up for a 2004 garden plot and are already listed on our Community Garden page, there is no need to complete this survey.
