Neighborhood Garden Survey
BACKGROUND
The Brightside Farm Committee and Charlestown Township are proposing to create a Neighborhood Garden at the site of the former Pyle family garden at Brightside Farm on Yellow Springs Road. Participants can grow vegetables, flowers or a mix. This survey is to determine the extent of interest in a neighborhood garden.
The Farm Committee along with volunteers will plow and disc a large garden area and fence most of it with 8' high fence for protection from the area deer population.
Water will be provided in time for this year's gardens.
We anticipate offering 10x10 ft and 20x20 ft plots. Individuals or families could share a plot.
Access would be available during daylight hours, 7 days/week.
Families would provide their own seed and gardening tools and labor. Some composted manure from Brightside Farm may be available.
A one-time $20 fee per family would be charged to cover the cost of ground preparation and fencing, regardless of the plot size.
