Subject: Brightside Farm - Election Day Open Space Poll Results

Dear Supervisors,

This letter formally reports the results of the Open Space Poll conducted on November 2, 1999 at the Charlestown Elementary polling place. A blank poll form is included for your review and the actual polling sheets were delivered to the Township after tabulation for official and public review and safekeeping. This poll was presented along with a display used at the October 18th public meeting conducted by the Township. The poll was designed to specifically establish whether there is public support for the purchase of the Brightside Farm.

The results of the poll asking, "Should the Township purchase the 55 acres?"

For your information, the November election turnout was 611 voters of the 2743 registered in the Township. This is a 22.2 % turnout.

The Farm Committee offers these results as evidence of the overall support for the acquisition of the Brightside Farm. We will be attending the December 6 and 20 Supervisors meetings to be available for questions and discussion regarding the Township's actions on this matter. We strongly advocate the Supervisors move to purchase the Brightside Farm and communicate this intent to the Great Valley School Board of Directors as soon as possible.
