Henry Soulen, Artist (1888 - 1965)

Henry J. Soulen lived and worked in our village for many years. You can see his studio at the intersection of Church and Charlestown Roads, with the "A" frame glass roof on the south-eastern wing.
Biographical Data (courtesy of his daughter Elizabeth O'Connor, Charlestown Township resident)
We recently purchased an "original" cover done by Henry Soulen for the October 1944 issue of Country Gentleman magazine. Click the image or here to see a larger (35.6 kb) image of this impressionist illustration.
We expect to have more information on Henry Soulen and other artists past and present who made Charlestown their home. Unfortunately, previous links to information on Henry Soulen at the Newman Galleries are no longer valid.
