February 4, 1927 - April 24, 2005
Obituary Memories
Obituary
Born 2-4-1927 in Philadelphia to the late Andrew Nesspor Sr. and Caroline (Podolinski) Nesspor
Moved first to Phoenixville as a child with her family and then on to Hartman Run Hollow in Charlestown in 1936.
She married John Neskie Jr. of Phoenixville and they moved into the stone farmhouse at Hartman Run Hollow where they lived until 1960 when they moved to a home that they, her father and brother rebuilt from fire ravaged ruins at 2246 Pikeland Road in Charlestown. John passed away in 1984 and Carol remained at 2246 Pikeland until her death 4-24-2005. She was also predeceased by her younger brother Andrew Nesspor Jr. who died in 1992.
Known to all at Charlestown Playhouse Pre School as "Miss Carol" she taught the "old 4s" for 55 years then served as acting director when Miss Betty Stonorov became ill. She was devoted to Playschool and in particular to Miss Betty who served as a mentor, friend, and companion most of her life. She also was very fond of the entire Stonorov family and considered Tina Daly and Tasha Stonorov as sisters along with Tina French Miller and Audrey Johnson.
Very independent and self sufficient, Carol enjoyed maintaining her property hands on and was an avid gardener, loved nature and especially enjoyed identifying the various birds that frequented her feeders.
Survived by and sadly missed by devoted and grieving nephew A. Greg Nesspor of Charlestown, nephew Brian Scott Nesspor, sister in law Margaret B. Nesspor, great niece Amy Caroline Nesspor and great nephew Aaron Nesspor all of Rock Hall Maryland, and brother in law Warren Botdorf Jr. of Spring City. Also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews of her late husband John Neskie Jr. She was loved by and is very missed by her dear friends, colleagues, students and parents of Charlestown Playhouse.
Memories
Memories of Carol Nesspor (from Harriet Swanson) -
As one of the original "playschool" kids, I was saddened to hear about the death of Carol Nesspor. We had gone to school together, although she was several years older than I, and her presence in Charlestown, and at the Playschool, was something that we all took for granted, for so many years. Three of our children are products of that great institution, and Miss Carol was such a meaningful part of that experience. She never seemed to grow old, and kept that cheerful disposition, from generation to generation. I last had a wonderful visit with her at our family reunion, at the Bell and Clapper. We had such fun talking about the years past. She will be missed, I know.
Sincerely,
Harriet Swanson
