Roadmaster Reports to the Board of Supervisors
September
October 4, 2004
For the month of September 2004
The month of September did not remain quiet for long. With the remnants of two hurricanes that sat over us for a while, the Pickering Creek flooded both times closing Pickering and Lincoln Roads. We also had to close Buckwalter Road for a while due to Ivan's water.
We have completed the drainage remediation work on Bodine Road which consisted of u-drain and inlet installation, curb removal, cross-pipe replacement and ditching. Road striping and traffic signs where appropriate remain to be finished. I anticipate this work should be completed during October.
After reviewing the township roads to insure that they are on the liquid fuels roster, all of the roads that were omitted save two have been submitted to PennDoT. We should see the additional roads on the next roster.
We are having a rash of graffiti being painted on the signs in the township including several that are particularly offensive. These incidents have been reported to the State Police as potential hate crimes. We continue to replace road signs and continue to mark inlets with green stakes.
I continue to meet with PennDoT regarding maintenance issues and review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements.
Road materials status:
| Material | Aug 31, 04 | Received | Used | September 30, 04 | On order |

| Note: Numbers are tons and are approximate. |
Respectfully submitted,
Frederick C. Alston
Roadmaster
