Roadmaster Report to the Board of Supervisors

August 4, 2003

During July, we continued to repair and replace traffic signs as needed. Additional markings for the speed limit signs on Union Hill Road have been installed as well as signage along Wells Road. We are preparing for the second roadside mowing. PennDOT is continuing their maintenance on Valley Hill Road. The other scheduled roads should follow. We had a tree blockage on State Road that PennDOT removed.
I met with PennDOT concerning the Agility Agreement and am waiting for the documents to come back from Harrisburg.
The intersection improvements at the Charlestown Road / Phoenixville Pike / Warner Lane / Yellow Springs Road area appear to be nearing completion.
Route 401 will be closed beginning on August 11 and continuing through October during the day between Newcomen Road and Phoenixville Pike for sewer line installation for the Charlestown Meadows Development.
I am continuing to review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements. The reflective bar installation on critical stop-sign posts is continuing. Painting of stop-bars at the stop signs will begin soon.
