June 7, 2004
For the month of May 2004

May seems to have calmed down a bit, especially in the weather department. During the month we inspected and received repair estimates for several of our roads. I have met with the Township engineer regarding these roads and other issues.
We will be installing an inlet on Ridgewood Road to eliminate a ponding issue. We are still reviewing the Bodine Road icing problems to find a reasonable and workable solution.
Roadside mowing will begin in June.
I have reviewed the bids for road related work and materials.
We continue to replace road signs. As time and weather permit, we will be marking inlets with green stakes.
I continue to meet with PennDOT regarding maintenance issues and review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements.
Road materials status:
Material Apr 30, 04 Received Used May 31, 04 On order
Road salt 125 0 0 125 0
Anti-skid 125 0 0 125 0

For the month of June 2004

June was a relatively quiet month with no major problems reported on our Township roads. During the month we inspected and received repair estimates for several of our roads. I have met with the Township engineer regarding these roads and other issues.
We installed an inlet on Ridgewood Road to eliminate a ponding issue and will be repairing an inlet on Wynd om Road. We are still reviewing the Bodine Road icing problems to find a reasonable and workable solution.
Roadside mowing has been delayed due to contractor issues. A road striping schedule is being worked out with PennDOT.
We continue to replace road signs. As time and weather permit, we will be marking inlets with green stakes.
I have met with PennDOT concerning issues with the road drainage at the Mill project and at the park along Township Line Road, guiderail installation along Township Line Road and several trees that are dead near the Pickering Ice Dam. I continue to meet with PennDOT regarding maintenance issues and review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements.
A projected road repair schedule is attached for your consideration.

For the month of July 2004

July was a relatively quiet month as well with no major problems reported on our Township roads. During the month we inspected and received repair estimates for several of our roads. I have met with the Township engineer regarding these roads and other issues.
The inlet installation on Ridgewood Road has been completed. We repaired two areas on Sidley Hill Road where the road surface was skidding. We also repaired inlets on Wyndom and Sawgrass Lanes. We are still reviewing the Bodine Road icing problems to find a reasonable and workable solution.
Township Line Road is being repaired and resurfaced this week along with some shoulder work and the installation of guiderail. We are clearing inlets that recent storms have clogged and then marking them with green stakes so that we can locate them if they become covered with debris or snow..
Roadside mowing is progressing with the PennDOT contractor doing the state roads and our contractor mowing the Township roads. We are working on a road striping schedule with PennDOT.
We continue to replace road signs. As time and weather permit, we will be marking inlets with green stakes.
I continue to meet with PennDOT regarding maintenance issues and review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements.

For the month of August 2004

The month of August remained relatively quiet with no major problems reported on our Township roads. During the month we installed guide rail along Township Line Road.
We have begun the remediation work on Bodine Road which consists of u-drain and inlet installation, curb removal, cross-pipe replacement, ditching, road striping and traffic signs where appropriate. I anticipate this work should be completed before the end of September.
I am reviewing all township roads to insure that they are on the liquid fuels roster.
We continue to replace road signs and are marking inlets with green stakes.
I continue to meet with PennDOT regarding maintenance issues and review the township roads for deficiencies or necessary improvements.
