Precipitation for May was .25" below normal for the month. We remain under a drought emergency. Please continue to follow the water conservation measures as outlined by the county and state.
One fireworks display permit was issued.
The Emergency Operations Center participated in the biennial Limerick Nuclear Generating Station Drill on May 7, 2002. Representatives from both FEMA and PEMA were in the EOC as evaluator and observer respectively. The PEMA representative's report is attached. I concur with the report and also feel that the EOC staff members were very professional and did an excellent job on this exercise. I would like to thank all who participate in the EOC.
Under the provisions of our ordinance, all fireworks displays must have a permit. With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, please apply for a fireworks permit at least two weeks before any intended display.
Respectfully submitted,
Frederick C. Alston
Fire Marshal / Emergency Management Coordinator
