Fire Marshal Report to the Board of Supervisors
February 1, 1999
During the month of January, East Whiteland and Kimberton Fire
Companies responded to: three trees/wires, one odor investigation, one
automatic fire alarm and four vehicle accidents. Additionally, I had one
incident of controlled burning.
The incidents were as follow:
- Trees and wires on Tinker Hill Road, Sidley Hill Road and Mine Road
- Odor investigation on Charlestown Hunt Drive
- Automatic fire alarm on Yellow Springs Road
Vehicle accidents on:
- Whitehorse Road near Ashenfelter Road
- Route 29 and Union Hill Road (2 incidents)
- Charlestown Road near Swiss Pines Lane
Controlled burning on Conestoga Road
Precipitation for January was 1.2" above normal which leaves a 7" deficit
with over the last 13 months. Again, this year, the lack of any snow cover
may be a concern in the spring. The burning ban for the township remains
in effect.
Respectfully submitted,
Frederick C. Alston
Fire Marshal
