Fire Marshal Report to the Board of Supervisors
February 3, 2003
During the month of January, the East Whiteland Township Volunteer Fire Association, Kimberton Fire Company and I responded to two automatic alarms and three vehicle accidents.
The emergency calls were as follows:
Automatic fire alarms on:
- Whitehorse Road
- Merlin Road
Vehicle accidents on:
- Phoenixville Pike near Yellow Springs Road
- Charlestown and Pickering Roads
- Merlin Road
Our precipitation returned to the below average area. The shortfall was 1.6" which gives us a shortage of over 4.5" in the last 13 months. The drought remains at warning status so we should continue to follow the water conservation measures as outlined by the county and state.
We held our meeting of the EOC on January 16, 2003. We discussed the plans for the EOCs, our township as well as county and state levels..
We have been fortunate not to have had a lot of vehicle accidents due to the parade of storms and icy road conditions. Please drive safely and remember that when the road looks wet, it may well be icy.
Respectfully submitted,
Frederick C. Alston
Fire Marshal / Emergency Management Coordinator
