School Board News

Enrollment for the school district is close to what was projected. K.D. Markley and Sugartown had large decreases where Charlestown is having the biggest increase. General Wayne and Great Valley High schools are right on the projected numbers. At the August 17th School Board meeting Mrs. Joanie Roe asked the school board members what the plans are for security at the high school and whether there are any procedures or policies for governing security. Mr. Esty responded that the school board was still in support of lights and the Gridiron Club was working on the issue.
A proposal was approved for Pennsylvania Economy League to conduct an analysis of demographics and community growth patterns in Great Valley School district. The cost will be $14,500.
After many late night sessions, Great Valley school board and the teacher's union have reached an agreement on a contract. The teachers will receive a 3.49% raise each year and four additional workdays will be added for teachers.
