PENNDOT TO START $2.6 MILLION ROUTE 29 PROJECT
The following is a press release from PennDOT issued December 44, 2003.
PA 29 TO BE WIDENED AND IMPROVED IN EAST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, CHESTER COUNTY
12/04/2003-KING OF PRUSSIA
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) today announced that roadwork will start Monday (December 8) on the $2.6 million project to widen and improve State Route 29 in East Whiteland Township, Chester County.
Under the $2,637,355 project, PENNDOT will widen Route 29 from two lanes to four between Great Valley Parkway and General Warren Boulevard to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. This project, which covers about 4,000 feet, will extend Route 29's existing four-lane pattern that stretches from U.S. Route 30 to Flat Road.
The project also includes drainage improvements, paving, modifying traffic signal at Route 29's intersections with Great Valley Parkway and General Warren Boulevard; and adding a signal at Route 29 and Flat Road. ÊConstruction is scheduled to finish in July 2004.
