A beautiful part of southeastern Pennsylvania
Pickering Bridge Almost Complete
I took these photos Sunday afternoon, May 26, 2002. Seen from above, the bridge with its lines already painted, looks ready for business. Seen from below, it is obvious that a good bit of stone work remains. A visitor to this site reports workmen expect the bridge to open in mid June.
From above, the bridge looks complete.
A good bit of stonework remains to be completed on both sides and under the bridge.
Looking downstream, the old stream bed to the left of the former island has been filled in, forcing all of the water to flow to the right.
