2002 Family Center Art Show
"Saving Children Through Art"
The Family Center Art Show for the benefit of the Exchange Club Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will be held at Upper Main Line Tribute Hall at 130 Grubb Road in Malvern, PA November 15 through 17, 2002. This is a new location for the show which was previously held at QVC. The Preview Party attended by many of the participating artists will be held Friday evening November 16th from 6:00 to 9:00PM. The cost of the catered Preview Party is $35 per person. For tickets call (610) 429-0634. Admission to the show is free.
The theme of this year's show is "Saving Children Through Art". Hundreds of pieces of framed original art will be available for purchase in a broad range of prices from such artists as Judy Antonelli, Angelo Gallo, and Doris Davis-Glacken.
Charlestown residents Geraldine Berg, Debbie Kuhn, Neila Kun and Linda Thiel Hewlings will also be represented.
Thirty percent of all proceeds will benefit the Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. The Family Center's mission is to reach out to all of Chester County to help parents better meet the needs of their children, and more specifically, prevent child abuse. Keeping families strong, together and safe from abuse is the goal of the Center. The Family Center provides services to families with children age twelve and under who come to the Center by self-referral, from a county agency, schools or physicians.
The Family Center programs have had great success in Coatesville, West Chester and throughout Chester County and Southern Chester County. Their clients have started jobs, returned to school, and have begun to feel the confidence and self-esteem necessary to be more secure and loving in their roles as parents. All this has happened through their Parent-Aid program, as well as Parenting Classes and Parent Support Groups they conduct throughout the county.
In addition to the Preview Party, show hours are Saturday November 16 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday November 17 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is free with the exception of the Preview Party.
For additional information about the show or the Preview Party contact The Family Center at (610) 429-0634.
The Exchange Club Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is a program of Family Service of Chester County.
