2001 Family Center Art Show
The Family Center Art Show for the benefit of the Exchange Club Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse will be held at QVC Studio Park in West Chester, PA October 12 - 14, 2001. The Preview Party will be attended by the over 100 participating artists and be held Friday evening October 12th from 6:30 to 9:00PM. The cost of the Preview Party is $30 per person and includes hot Hors d'oeuvres and wine. Admission to the show is free.
The theme of this year's show is "Saving Children Through Art," and the Feature Artist is James Browne of Phoenixville. Over 500 pieces of framed original art will be available for purchase from such well-known artists as Paul Scarborough, Jeanne Petrosky, Suk Shuglie, Michael Rocco, Lorann Jacobs, Catherine Colsher, Wendy Scheirer, Jack Kaiser, Helena VanEmmerick-Finn, as well as four artists from Charlestown Township: Deborah Kuhn, Neila Kun, Gerry Berg, and Linda Thiel Hewlings.
Thirty percent of all proceeds will benefit the Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. The Family Center's mission is to reach out to all of Chester County to help parents better meet the needs of their children, and more specifically, prevent child abuse. Keeping families strong, together and safe from abuse is the goal of the Center. The Family Center provides services to families with children age twelve and under who come to the Center by self-referral, from a county agency, schools or physicians.
The Family Center programs have had great success in Coatesville, West Chester and throughout Chester County and Southern Chester County. Their clients have started jobs, returned to school, and have begun to feel the confidence and self-esteem necessary to be more secure and loving in their roles as parents. All this has happened through their Parent-Aid program, as well as Parenting Classes and Parent Support Groups they conduct throughout the county.
In addition to the Preview Party, show hours are Saturday October 13 from 10:00AM to 8:00PM and Sunday October 14 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Admission is free with the exception of the Preview Party.
