The Woolen Mill (date unknown)
Jane Ritchie Painting - 1989
This 1989 painting by Jane Ritchie shows the Woolen Mill from the pasture in front of the Methodist Church. Many Township residents will remember when the pasture through which the Pickering Creek meanders was mostly grass, and not overgrown with shrubs and trees as it is now. That was largely due to the pasture being grazed by Holsteins. While the farmhouse is not shown in the painting, the mill race is evident in the dark line among the trees in the middle of the painting.
Our direction map shows approximately where Jane Ritchie stood to paint this image of the Woolen Mill.
