Charlestown Village
The Woolen Mill
John R. Peirce Painting, 1969
This magnificent painting of the Woolen Mill and farmhouse with the village and Charlestown United Methodist Church in the background should be seen in person. It is currently hanging in the Township Office, on loan from the Charlestown Historical Society. The painting was donated to CHS by Henry and Sumiko Sigura.
Note that Charlestown Road passes between the mill and the farmhouse (no longer standing) and the Methodist Church has no steeple.
Our direction map shows approximately where John Peirce stood to paint this image of the Woolen Mill and Village.
