Locations of Mines in Charlestown Township
We remind the reader that we are limiting the scope of this article to the mines of northern Charlestown Township, and more specifically, the mines developed and managed by Charles Wheatley.
The map below was derived from a map in "Highlights on the Life of Charles M. Wheatley", by F. Harold Evans, published in 1984 by The Mineralogical Society of PA

The thin green line extending from Creek Rd south through the Wheatley, Brookdale and Phoenix mines is the path of the vein of ore (determined by experts to be the same vein) that is common to those mines.
The Charlestown Mine, while not as large as the Wheatley Mines, extends under the Charlestown Hunt area and its tunnels were filled with concrete prior to the development of that property.
The smaller green dots are additional mines in the Tinker Hill and Creek Road area, notably the Montgomery Mine, Chester Co. Mine and the mines of the S.W. Chester Co.
