Restoring The Woolen Mill
Constructed circa 1740 with upgrades circa 1840 and 1902, the old Woolen Mill adjacent to Charlestown Road in Charlestown Village has been purchased by Charlestown Township and is slated for a multi-year project to first stabilize the structure and eventually restore it.
This section will eventually have links to multiple "slide shows" of various phases of work on the Woolen Mill. (For our section on the history of the Mill, click here or "Woolen Mill" in the green link bar above.)

- The day before these photos were taken, the roof at the north (up hill) end of the mill collapsed as workers were removing supports. This is a series of 14 photos of the building as the roof and rubble were being removed while simultaneously stone masons worked in the ground level to strengthen and replace stonework that is a threat to the stabiilty of the buildling.
